How to fix a slow computer?

In today's world, new programs with high end requirement of physical and virtual memory are testing the capacity of computers, thereby making them run slow. Slow computer is a result of different reasons ranging from virus infection to shortage of physical and virtual memory, spyware, malware,

1. Run a complete virus scan on the computer using any reliable

4. Go to Run> Type "prefetch"> Click OK> you will get a window with
lots of files> delete all


5. Click on start> go to Run> Type Msconfig> click OK> You will get
window that says Microsoft configuration> Go to the StartUp tab>


uncheck all wanted softwares that start automatically when you start
the computer> Click OK> Computer will restart.


Doing the above should increase the computer speed by at least 30-40%.
